Prices are quoted per tire plus mounting, balancing, valve stems and a disposal fee for the old set; many shops price-match and include free rotation and flat repair for the life of the tire. Used tire shops sell inspected take-offs for a fraction of the price of new ones, useful for an older car or a single replacement. Wheel and rim shops repair bent or curb-scraped wheels, refinish them and sell aftermarket sets. Seasonal demand peaks before winter in the northern states and before summer road trips everywhere.

Got a flat after hours? Go to Alfaro’s, but be prepared to pay extra. Jaime repaired the tire on our Nissan Sentra at 10:30 PM. Güero’s, down the street on 29th, used to stay open till 11, but they’re closing at 10 now. I, personally, prefer them. Fortunately, there was someone at Alfaro’s. Right off the bat, he said it was going to be double, so $20, because they were closed. Google says they’re open 24 hours. I agreed to it immediately because I had no choice and because it needed to be done, though I sensed that he’s probably used to being met with resistance. I can only imagine that people can be pretty upset when they’re already dealing with an unexpected flat and then an unforeseen extra expense on top of it. He did a great job, though, and at my request, he also checked the rest of the tires for air and refilled them. I’m grateful there was someone there who could help us when we needed it.

I had two nails and a tire at 8:00 p.m. and they were open and available to help me very professional. They fixed my tire quickly. Great friendly service and they're open 24 hours. If it looks like you don't see anyone after hours just knock on the window and the guy will come out and help you.
